Colorado is a card collector's dream: the Colorado Libraries Collaborate program means any Colorado resident can get a card at virtually any public library in the state, usually free. One caveat — Denver Public Library removed Libby access for out-of-city eCard holders in August 2024, so you'll need to register in person there for a full card.
Most of the big Front Range systems — Denver, Jefferson County, Arapahoe, Douglas County, Aurora, Anythink, High Plains, Poudre River, Pikes Peak, Pueblo, and Durango — each run their own separate Libby collection, so every one of those cards unlocks new books. Beyond the independents there are three shared pools: the Boulder-area Front Range Downloadable Library (Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, Broomfield, Westminster, Louisville, Lafayette), the Marmot Library Network covering much of the mountains and Western Slope, and the Across Colorado Digital Consortium pooling dozens of small-town and rural libraries. One card per pool is all you need.
