Idaho cards are tied to your home library district, and out-of-district cards usually cost money — Meridian, for example, charges $140/year per household. The state's IDEA program (Idaho Digital E-book Alliance) also adds a shared supplemental ebook pool that most Idaho cardholders can tap regardless of home library.
Idaho's Libby landscape is fragmented into several pools, which makes card collecting genuinely useful here. Dozens of small and mid-size libraries share the Idaho Digital Consortium collection; the Treasure Valley and Magic Valley have the eight-library ID8 Digital Library (Ada Community, Caldwell, Nampa, Eagle, Emmett, Mountain Home, Hailey, Twin Falls); north central Idaho shares Valnet; and after the north Idaho CIN consortium dissolved in 2025, Coeur d'Alene and the Silver Valley libraries formed the InlandShare pool while the Community Library Network went its own way. Standalone collections worth a card include Boise, Meridian, Kuna, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, East Bonner County, and the Community Library Network.
