Free Indiana cards are limited to your home library district. The statewide PLAC card ($70/year) lets you borrow in person at any Indiana public library, but it explicitly excludes ebooks and other digital content โ so it won't add Libby catalogs.
Nearly 200 small and mid-size libraries pool their ebooks in the Indiana Digital Library, one big shared Libby catalog โ any member card unlocks all of it. The separate collections worth collecting are the large independents: Indianapolis, Allen County (Fort Wayne), Evansville Vanderburgh, St. Joseph County (South Bend), Lake County, Hamilton East and Carmel Clay, plus smaller stand-alones like Gary, La Porte County, Logansport-Cass County and Hancock County.
Indiana has about 236 library districts; this map shows the independents plus the larger Indiana Digital Library members across the state.
Each pin is a library system (one card per system). Click a dot for details. Progress saves in your browser.
