Massachusetts is friendly territory for card collectors: most public libraries will register any Massachusetts resident regardless of home town, and anyone who lives, works, or studies in the state can get a Boston Public Library eCard online in minutes with full digital access.
Nearly every library belongs to one of nine networks, and each network runs its own Libby collection — the colors on this map: CLAMS (Cape & Islands), CW MARS (Central & Western), Minuteman (Metro West), MVLC (Merrimack Valley), NOBLE (North Shore), OCLN (South Shore), SAILS (Southeastern), and BPL itself. Better still, the statewide LEA (Library eBooks and Audiobooks) partnership lets one network card borrow from the other networks' collections inside Libby, so a single Massachusetts card already reaches most of the state's ebooks — extra cards mainly help you skip waitlists in each network's home catalog.
