Montana cards are issued by your local city or county library, and most systems serve their whole county through branch networks. Getting a card is straightforward at your home library, and many Montana libraries extend courtesy cards to other state residents.
For Libby, Montana is effectively one big pool: over 100 public, tribal, and academic libraries โ including Billings, Missoula, Bozeman, Great Falls, and Helena โ share the single MontanaLibrary2Go collection. The State Library itself notes that a resident of tiny Twin Bridges sees the same digital catalog as a Billings resident, so collecting multiple Montana cards adds essentially nothing for Libby. One card unlocks the whole state.
This map shows about 50 of the larger city and county systems across the state; dozens of smaller town libraries (all also MontanaLibrary2Go members) are not pinned.
Each pin is a library system (one card per system). Click a dot for details. Progress saves in your browser.
