North Dakota is one of the easiest states in the country for digital library access: any North Dakota resident can get a free North Dakota State Library card online, and that card taps the same shared Libby pool used by the majority of the state's public libraries.
That pool is the North Dakota Digital Consortium (Library2Go) — the State Library plus 60+ city, county and regional libraries, from Bismarck and Minot to Grand Forks and Williston, all sharing one Libby collection. Even Fargo Public Library participates, though it limits digital checkouts to Fargo residents and property owners. For most collectors, one card — the free State Library card — covers essentially the whole state.
The map pins the State Library and the consortium's larger members across the state, plus a few small-town libraries that haven't joined the consortium (their residents rely on the free State Library card for Libby).
