South Carolina runs on county library systems, and cards are generally limited to residents (or property owners and workers) of each county โ there's no statewide card, and non-resident cards usually carry a fee. The SCLENDS consortium lets many smaller systems share one catalog for physical books, but digital access follows your home county's card.
For Libby the state splits three ways: about eighteen mostly-smaller systems pool into the Jasmine Digital Library, seven Pee Dee and Midlands systems (including Myrtle Beach's Chapin Memorial) share the Palmetto Library Consortium, and the big systems โ Richland, Charleston, Greenville, Spartanburg, Horry, Lexington, York and friends โ each run independent Libby collections. One card inside each pool covers the whole pool.
A handful of systems (ABBE Regional, Beaufort, Lancaster, Oconee, Lee) skip Libby entirely in favor of hoopla or cloudLibrary โ they're shown as dark pins.
Each pin is a library system (one card per system). Click a dot for details. Progress saves in your browser.
